Family: Her mother died after giving birth to her, her good-for-nothing father left her alone, taking her older sister Kiyuna and her older brother Honatu and left her to die.Cerina was left to fend for herself at the age of 3. Until at the age of 14, she entered the Dark Tournament and her first round was against Team Mashotsukai (Masho). Winning her first fight against Bakken she was then put up in a fight against Touya, losing pathetically, though he spared her life, as the young Cerina had begun to cry, remembering when her father left, after revealing that he killed her mother. Touya took pity on the young ice demon and let her slip away with a 10 count. They have been quite close ever since, as both were able to control ice.
